Die Euro-Finanzminister haben in Dublin die internationalen Hilfen für den angeschlagenen Inselstaat Zypern beschlossen. Zypern soll von seinen Euro-Partnern Kredite in Höhe von neun Milliarden Euro und weiterhin eine Milliarde Euro vom Internationalen Währungsfonds (IWF) Darlehen erhalten.
Das Volumen der Hilfen beträgt damit wie bisher geplant 10 Milliarden Euro. Rund 13 Milliarden Euro muss Zypern selbst aufbringen, unter anderem durch die teilweise Beschlagnahmung von Bankguthaben. Die Regierung dementierte unterdessen, eine Aufstockung des internationalen Hilfspakets beantragt zu haben.
Präsident Anastasiades habe keine weiteren Finanzhilfen, sondern Subventionen und Gelder aus Kohäsionsfonds der europäischen Union gefordert, sagte der zyprische Regierungssprecher Christos Stylianides dem staatlichen Fernsehen.
