Die Royal Band of Scotland (RBS) gab gestern bekannt, dass die hauseigene CFD-Handelsplattform RBS marketindex mit Wirkung zum 8. November 2013 eingestellt wird. Die Handelsplattform wird über dieses Datum heraus nicht mehr fortgeführt.

Wie die RBS in einer offiziellen Pressemitteilung bekannt gab, wird der von der RBS betriebene CFD-Broker marketindex mit Wirkung zum 8. November 2013 um 16.00 Uhr (MEZ) eingestellt und über diesen Zeitpunkt heraus nicht mehr weiter geführt. Zu jenem Zeitpunkt werden sämtliche noch offene Positionen glattgestellt, Verfügungen über das Konto sind darüber hinaus weiterhin möglich.

RBS marketindex war im Jahr 2006 noch unter der Bezeichnung ABN AMRO marketindex bekannt. Unter den in Deutschland tätigen CFD-Anbietern gehörte marketindex zu den bekannteren und größeren Dienstleistern. Nach der Übernahme der ABN AMRO Bank durch The Royal Bank of Scotland Group wurde die Handelsplattform in RBS marketindex umbenannt.

Die Nachricht kam unerwartet. Genaue Beweggründe für den freiwilligen Rücktritt der Handelsplattform sind bisher nicht bekannt. Anleger, die bisher mit marketindex tätig waren, finden auf der Seite der offiziellen Mitteilung neben der Bekanntgabe und einem Dokument mit den häufigsten Fragen ein Formular zur Kontoschließung vor.

Einige Wettbewerber im CFD-Markt versuchen indes bisherige marketindex-Kunden durch lukrative Abwerbeprogramme zu gewinnen. Anleger, die weiterhin auf CFD-Handelsplattformen tätig sein möchten, sollten sich nach speziellen Angeboten umschauen.
